Compass Surveying: True & Magnetic meridian, whole circle bearing & quadrantal bearing system, construction & use of prismatic & Surveyors compass, Local attraction.

Survey system - Constants Methods - Stadiam method, subtence method, Tangential method - merits and demerits of Tachometry - relation between stadiam reading, Horizontal distance, vertical distance, solves problems.
Triangulation: Definition - Principles - Classification mine triangulation - scheme of Triangulation - Checks for measuring angles in triangle - Selection of stations - points considered for selection of stations - Baseline measurement in catenary, on level ground - Connections applied on base line determination of true north by astronomical observation method of extension of base line.
Triangulation system with primary, secondary and tertiary orders; Measurement of base line and angles; Satellite stations; Computation and plotting.

Solid Waste Management: Introduction, Storage, Collection and transportation of municipal solid waste, Composting of solid waste, techniques for disposal of solid waste, Biomedical and e-waste management.
