· Definitions:
- Company: Refers to Coal India Ltd.
- Competent Authority:
Typically the Chairman & Managing Director (or their delegate),

- Protected Disclosure: Any
communication made in good faith that reveals unethical or improper
activities.
- Whistle Blower: An
employee who makes a Protected Disclosure, providing reliable information
without engaging in the investigation themselves.
- Additional terms (such as "Employee," "Improper Activity," and "Investigators") are defined to clarify roles and responsibilities within
the policy framework.
· Eligibility:
- Every employee, whether working in India or abroad, is eligible to
make Protected Disclosures.
- This broad eligibility ensures that all staff members have access

· Guiding Principles:
- Disclosures are to be acted upon in a time-bound manner.
- The identity of the Whistle Blower is to remain confidential to the
fullest extent possible.
- Protection from any form of victimization or unfair treatment is
guaranteed for anyone making a Protected Disclosure.
